Night of the Arts - June 2, 2009 I tell you, the more I think, the more I feel that there is nothing more truly artistic than to love people. - Vincent van Gogh
Our annual celebration of the arts was held on Tuesday, June 2, 2009. Mrs. Whittemore transformed the halls and Parish Center of our school into a visually stunning gallery of our students' artistic creations. Works included beautiful watercolors, colorful weavings, textural compositions and creative wooden sculptures of well known architectural masterpieces like the Sphinx and the Eiffel Tower. Mr. Kanute presented a vocal concert featuring songs from Broadway. The Parish Center was filled with beautiful music as each grade performed. A highlight of the evening was a remarkable recorder performance of a Mozart piece by one of our talented third graders. Several students also performed solo vocal pieces and two 8th grade boys performed on piano and harmonica.
