On a balmy evening, our school's Jazz, Cadet and Advanced Bands provided us with beautiful musical entertainment. Selections included "Tuxedo Junction" performed by the Jazz Band, "Anasazi" performed by the Cadet Band, and "Manhattan Beach March" performed by the Advanced Band along with many other toe-tapping tunes performed both in band groups and in small ensembles. One of the highlights of the evening was a beautiful clarinet duet Mozart composition played by 2 eighth grade students. We were all "wiped out" by the Advanced Band's finale, "Wipe Out", featuring stunning drum work by an accomplished grade 8 drummer.
Graduating 8th graders were presented with a plaque from FMI commending their participation in the FMI Instrumental Music program.
Mrs. Morse was presented with a beautiful bouquet from the Home & School Association and a hanging plant and chocolates from the 8th grade band members. We all extend to her our grateful thanks for her dedicated service to our young musicians.
