SMS Scholarship & Tuition Assistance Information

Consistent with the mission of the school, Saint Mary's School offers tuition assistance. Tuition assistance is funded by the Archbishop's Annual Appeal and the Catholic School Support Plan (CSSP). Additional tuition assistance grants are available on an annual basis through the Saint Mary's School Trust. The Trust is an independent entity that awards scholarships based on information submitted by parents to the Private School Financial Aid Service to families meeting criteria established by the Trust.

1. ST. MARY SCHOOL TRUST SCHOLARSHIPS

Who can apply:

Any family whose children will be enrolled in grades 1 through 8 at St. Mary's school. There are no requirements regarding prior enrollment at St. Mary's School, parish affiliation, or religion.

Application forms and specific instructions for completion of the application for the scholarships administered by the St. Mary's School Trust are made available in January or February of each year.

2. ARCHBISHOP'S ANNUAL APPEAL TUITION GRANTS

Thanks to the overwhelming response to this year's Archbishop's Annual Appeal, we are pleased to report that the Appeal will continue to provide student tuition grants to deserving families, enabling them to enroll or to retain their children in one of the 58 Catholic elementary and middle schools in the Archdiocese.

Each parish elementary school in the Archdiocese will be eligible to receive the funding needed to award 25 tuition assistance grants of $500 each to students enrolled for the upcoming school year. A total of $15,000 will be provided to each parish school from the Archbishop's Annual Appeal.

The application to request consideration for a tuition assistance grant from the Archbishop's Annual Appeal is provided to all enrolled families each August. It is also available for download under the SMS Parents link of the website. The pastor reviews all completed applications and administers the tuition grants.

3. CATHOLIC SCHOOL SUPPORT PROGRAM (CSSP)

Catholic parishes without schools are assessed annually to assist Catholic schools. Funds are collected by the Archdiocesan Fiscal Office and released to parish elementary and middle schools and Archdiocesan high schools by the Superintendent of Catholic Schools.

Each parish elementary and middle school in the Archdiocese will be eligible to receive the funding needed to award 20 tuition assistance grants of $500 each to Catholic students enrolled for the upcoming school year. A total of $10,000 will be distributed to each parish school.

Requests for consideration for a tuition assistance grant via CSSP should be made in writing to the Pastor.
