Planned Giving

What is Planned Giving?

Planned giving is the process of making a charitable gift to an organization, carefully selecting the best method and assets for making the gift.

The planned gift requires consideration and planning in light of your overall estate plan. Some of these gifts include bequests, life insurance, real estate, trusts, and annuities. Because of the size and potential impact of such gifts, you should contact your professional advisor before completing the process.

Through planned giving, you may find that you are able to make a generous gift to the SMS Endowment Fund to secure teacher's salaries and benefits, increase tuition assistance, and contribute to capital improvement while also reducing your burden of income, capital gains, or estate taxes.
